Here are some pics of my new Jackson $10 gold piece. I got it in mint state, for some reason I like this look better than the proof look. I took the pictures outside on a sunny day. I hope you like the pics!

Nice coin!

I haven't seen much modern U.S. gold that's pure, with the weight. Great obverse design, too.

Any advice on where to get my own? :biggrin:

Nice photos. Especially of highly reflective gold. What is the issue price?

To the board numismatists: when was the law changed to permit a "non eagle" backside design requirement on US Minted Gold?

I got mine from moderncoinmart.com - it was $599 in MS-69 - I know that's a lot for a half ounce right now, but I'm a numismatist at heart, and with a mintage under 3000 right now, this is a rare coin!

That's a good question, I thought the law required all coins to say LIBERTY on the Obverse, and depict an Eagle on the reverse.

That being said, beautiful coin! A more dignified position for the man who killed the bank, than the $20 bank note.

The word "Liberty" IS on the obverse. Did you check out the lettering near the edge of the capped bust?

Still haven't seen feather nor hair of that eagle on the reverse tho', unless ol'Hickory was also nicknamed "Eagle Eye" and I just didn't know that...:111:
